Crypto Talent Wire #10 - Crypto Hiring Newsletter
Edition 10 (2026-04-29) of The Crypto Talent Wire: Your bi-weekly update on blockchain jobs and what's happening in crypto hiring. Bi-weekly insights on crypto and blockchain hiring from TechChain Talent.
End of April and the market is moving in some interesting directions. A few things have shifted in the last two weeks that are worth paying attention to, whether you're hiring or thinking about your next move.
Let's get into it.
💸 The Second Offer Problem
Candidates are receiving a revised offer after they have already declined the first one. Not a counter-offer from their current employer. A second attempt from the company that just rejected them or lost them to a competitor.
If you know what a role is worth, put that in the first offer. The crypto talent pool is too well-networked for lowballing to go unnoticed.
📈 Hiring for the Bull Run That May or May Not Come
A company looks at market conditions, gets optimistic, and starts hiring aggressively in anticipation of growth that has not arrived. Then the market moves differently. The team they built is now running on a budget built for another future.
Hire for the business you have while keeping your pipeline warm for the business you are becoming.
📍 The Relocation Conversation Nobody Wants to Have
More companies are quietly reintroducing location requirements. Hybrid arrangements, timezone windows, or a preference for candidates in specific cities. Most of them are not saying this clearly upfront.
If your role has a location component, say it in the first message. Transparency is not a deterrent. Ambiguity is.
🎯 What Strong Candidates Are Actually Looking For Right Now
A founder or hiring manager who can clearly articulate what the next 12 months looks like for the company.
Evidence that the people already there are good. Strong candidates do not want to be the only person in the room they can learn from.
Clarity on how decisions get made. Whether there is real autonomy or just the appearance of it.
🤝 The Part-Time to Full-Time Talent Pool
There is a significant pool of experienced people in crypto who have been working part-time, consulting, or contributing to DAOs while waiting for the right full-time opportunity.
Standard hiring processes were not built to find them. Building relationships, showing up in the right communities, and being specific about what you are offering does.
